Anti-Deoxyribonuclease B (Anti-DNase B) assay is a quantitative measure of the presence of antibodies in patients suspected of having a recent group A (Beta-hemolytic) streptococcus infections (Streptococcus pyogenes). Anti-DNase B antibody titers, stay elevated for prolonged period,
which is useful since often ASO titers may rise, but falls prior to the onset of the glomerulonephritis which shows onset often greater than 2 weeks after the infection has resolved.
